The story about the red guy from hell, Hellboy, continues in the movie, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. The movie is directed by the Oscar nominated Guillermo del Toro. He also directed the first Hellboy movie, named Hellboy. Ron Perlman does the role of Hellboy, just like he did, in the first movie.
In Hellboy 2, the truce between humanity and the realm of fantasy is broken and our whole world, is in great danger. An evil leader from the realm of fantasy, gathers and army of creatures from the realm.
Hellboy, must fight the army and it’s leader, together with the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Development; Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), and Johann Kraus.
Hellboy and the team from, the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Development, gets to fight incredible creatures, while they travels between the realm and the earth. However, Hellboy is forced to make a decision, continue with his life as he knows it or pursuing a life of unknown destiny.
Hellboy is based on the comic book character, created by Mike Mignola from Dark Horse Comics. The filming for Hellboy 2, took 7 months, from June -07 to December -07. That was mainly because, del Toro’s success with his movie Pan’s Labyrinth, that made that possible.
Guillermo del Toro, turned down other projects, in favor for Hellboy 2, such as I Am Legend, Halo and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Also, Ron Perlman also turned down a role in Dragonball, in order to reprise his role as Hellboy.
Hellyboy 2 has premier on July 11th.
