The nominations to the animated award show, The Annie Awards, has been released and chances are that one single film could steal 17 awards - Kung Fu Panda.
With a whooping 17 nominations Kung Fu Panda captured the title for most nominations, of all time. Beating both, The Incredibles and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which both got just 16 nominations.
I’ll guess that the people over at DreamWorks Animation Studio walks around with big smiles on their faces today, since besides Kung Fu Panda’s 17 nominations, they’ll receive 10 more for, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Secrets of the Furious Five, giving them a total of 27 Annie nominations!
The runners up, as for number of nominations where, Bolt from Walt Disney which received 9 monitions and WALL-E from Pixar that grabbed 8 monitions. Now, it’s not likely that Kung Fu Panda will go home with all 17 awards, for example The Incredibles was nominated to 16 awards and won 10 of them. We will know for sure on January 30, when The Annie Awards will be held, to see how many Annies Kung Fu Panda actually won.
Nevertheless, with such a huge number of nominations, it’s likely that the Kung Fu Panda will have a very pleasant night at the Oscars, to look forward to.
