Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are the stars in the comedy movie, Step Brothers, that has premiere July 25. Ferrell and Reilly also played together in the movie Talladega Nights, from 2006, also directed by Adam McKay. Step Brothers is based on a story written by Ferrell, McKay, and Reilly and deal with two grown up men, that becomes stepbrothers.
Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell), is an employed 39 year old, that lives with his mother, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen). Dale Doback (John C. Reilly), is also and unemployed 40 year old, that lives with his father, Robert (Richard Jenkins).
The two do-nothings, becomes stepbrothers, when their parents gets married and decide to move in together. When Robert and Nancy get married and move in together, Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as stepbrothers.
Not surprising, the two immature and overgrown boys, tears the family apart, with their laziness and narcissism. This force, the two stepbrothers,to construct an insane plan, to get their parents, back together, again. However, for the plan to succeed, they must form a bond, that will finally get them out of the house.
Step Brothers, got a R rating from the MPAA, mainly because the movie contains crude and sexual content and pervasive language, which isn’t a surprise, considering the people behind it.
